Disconnecting removes the link between an item in POS and its product in your ecommerce store. The item stops syncing, and the product in your online store is not deleted or changed. Use it when you want to manage an item in POS only, or to clean up items that should never have been linked.
What Happens When You Disconnect
The item stops syncing with your ecommerce store.
The product in your ecommerce store is not deleted or modified. It stays exactly as it is.
The item stays in POS with its stock, pricing, and history, and you can edit or delete it freely.
Is Ecommerce Item is turned off on the item.
The disconnect is recorded in the item's Ecommerce Sync Log.
Note: Disconnecting cannot be undone. Turning Is Ecommerce Item back on later creates a brand new product in your store. It does not relink the old one.
Disconnect a Single Item
From Dashboard, go to Inventory > Items.
Open the item.
Scroll to the Ecommerce Sync Log section.
Click Disconnect from Ecommerce.
Review the confirmation and click Confirm.
The page refreshes. The button disappears and the item no longer syncs.
Note: The button only appears on items that are currently linked to your ecommerce store.
Disconnect Multiple Items at Once
From Inventory > Items, select the items you want to disconnect.
Click Edit to open bulk editing.
Scroll to the bottom and click Disconnect from Ecommerce.
The window shows how many items you selected and how many of them are currently linked.
Type the number of selected items to unlock the button, then click Disconnect from Ecommerce.
You will see a summary of how many items were disconnected and how many were skipped.
Note:
Selected items without an ecommerce link are skipped automatically. They are never changed.
You can disconnect up to 500 items at a time.
If a sync is currently running, wait for it to finish and try again.
Your Product Online After Disconnecting
Disconnecting only changes POS. The product stays live in your ecommerce store.
If you no longer want to sell it online, unpublish or delete the product in your ecommerce store.
If the product stays online and Import items into POS is enabled, a later change to that product can bring it into POS as a new item. Unpublish or delete the product online to prevent this.
Need to Unlink Everything?
Disconnect is designed for individual items or batches. If you are switching to a new Shopify store or another ecommerce platform, contact customer support before resetting your ecommerce connection.
