Transfers move stock between your own locations and are a two-phase document, not an instant adjustment.
Create a transfer: choose a From Location (limited to stores you can write stock out of) and a To Location, then add lines. The editor shows what’s actually available at the source as you add each line.
Dispatch: click Dispatch. This immediately decrements the source location’s stock and puts the transfer in transit. The destination has not gained the stock yet.
Receive at the destination: someone at the receiving location opens the transfer and confirms, line by line, what actually arrived, which can be less than what was sent. Only the confirmed quantity is added to the destination’s stock; short and over receipts stay visible on the document rather than disappearing into an unexplained stock adjustment.
A transfer can also be rejected (destination declines it) or cancelled (before dispatch), each recorded on the document’s history.
Note: Serial numbers for serialized items are captured at receive, not at dispatch, so an item that’s technically in transit is still shown as available at the source until someone actually takes receipt of it at the other end.
