Item Attributes and Variations help you track product qualities such as color, size, or material. Follow the steps below to create attributes and add variations:

  1. Create an Attribute.
An attribute acts as a label for a type of product feature.

For example, Size is an attribute.

  2. Add Variations.
Variations represent the specific options within an attribute.

For Size, variations could include Small, Medium, and Large.

Types of Attributes

Using attributes and variations allows you to fine-tune inventory management, apply customized pricing, and generate more accurate reports.

You can create two types of attributes by choosing the options below:

  • Global Attributes.
Reusable across multiple items. For example, Shirt Size can apply to many different shirt products.

  • Custom Attributes.
Specific to a single item. For example, a limited-edition item may have unique attributes that aren’t used elsewhere.
