Star TSP 100 Receipt Printer

The recommend receipt is the Star TSP 100 ECO. Other customers have had success with other printers from companies such as Epson. If you plan to purchase a different receipt printer than the recommend, try to get one that prints on paper that is 72 mm or greater.


Install Driver For Windows

Before you can use your receipt printer, you’ll need to install the correct driver on your Windows computer.

Follow the step below:


Chrome Setup

After installing your printer driver, you’ll need to configure your browser settings to ensure Chrome sends print jobs correctly. Follow the steps below:

  1. In Google Chrome, click the three vertical dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of your browser.

    From the dropdown menu, select Print.

  2. Adjust Print Settings.
    In the print dialog that appears, click More settings to expand the options.

    Set the following options to match your printer setup:

    • Paper size.
      Select the size used by your receipt printer

    • Margins.
      None or Minimum

    • Destination.
      Select your TSP100 printer


Disable Printer Dialog Confirmation (Printing Without Interaction in Chrome).

This setup allows Chrome to print automatically without showing the print preview or requiring user confirmation.

  1. Open Google Chrome.
    Ensure you’re using the latest version of Chrome.

  2. Verify Print Preview Settings.
    Confirm that Chrome’s print preview feature is enabled, as it’s required for kiosk printing to function properly.

  3. In the Chrome address bar, type about:flags and press Enter.

    Make sure the “Disable Print Preview” option is NOT enabled.

  4. Set Up Kiosk Printing Mode.
    Enable kiosk printing mode so Chrome automatically sends print jobs to your default printer.

    To enable kiosk printing mode follow the steps below:

    • Close all Chrome windows.

    • On your desktop, find your Chrome shortcut icon.

    • Right-click the shortcut and select Properties.

    • In the Target field, go to the end of the line and add this text " --kiosk --kiosk-printing"

    • Click Apply, then OK to save your changes.


Paper Size Setup for Receipt Printer

To make sure your receipt printer uses the correct paper size and prints receipts properly.

Follow the steps below:

  • Go to My Computer > Control Panel > Printers.

  • Right-click on your Star TSP100 printer and select Printer Properties.

  • Click the Device Settings tab.

  • Under Form to Tray Assignment, select 72mm x Receipt.


Automatically Cut Receipt on Duplicate Prints

To ensure your printer automatically cuts receipts after each print, adjust the cut settings.

Follow the steps below:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

  • Right-click your Star TSP100 printer and choose Printer Properties.

  • Click the Device Settings tab.

  • Find Page Cut Type and set it to Partial Cut.


Obtaining IP address of Wireless LAN Printer Installation

If you are installing a LAN or Wireless printer, you’ll need to obtain its IP address before completing the setup.

Follow the steps below to locate the IP address assigned to your printer:

  1. Make sure your printer is powered off.

  2. Ensure it is connected to your network via LAN cable or wireless connection.

  3. Perform a Hardware Self-Test.

    • Press and hold the Feed button on your printer.

    • While holding the button, turn the printer back on.

    • Continue holding the Feed button until printing begins, then release it.

  4. The printer will print two test receipts.

  5. Locate the IP Address.

    • Look at the second test receipt.

    • Scroll to the bottom of the page, you’ll find the section labeled “Current IP Parameters Status.”

  6. The IP Address of your printer will be listed there.

Note: Keep this receipt or write down the IP address, you’ll need it later to complete the printer setup.
